Provectus was proud to support a weekend fundraising event
Over the August Bank Holiday a fundraising event was held for Lucy Barham, who is undergoing chemotherapy for an inoperable brain tumour.
Lucy Barham, who has a nine - year old son, Oliver , was diagnosed with a non-cancerous tumour eight years ago and recently learned it had spread. Ms Barham is facing nine months of treatment and the size of the tumour will be rechecked in October.
Doctors say the tumour has grown like a spider's web, making it very difficult to remove, and the 33-year old has regular checks to monitor its growth.
Since the diagnosis, Ms Barham has been determined to live life to the full and her bubbly personality and positive attitude prompted friends to hold a weekend of fundraising. A fancy dress run around the town, a pool match, karaoke, a raffle, an auction and regulars at the village pub performed their version of the famous Full Monty film routine.
Miss Bubble , a friend of Lucy, said " We want to raise some money to help her out, she can do whatever she wants with it", "She is the loveliest person I have met, very bubbly and positive".
Ms Barham said she was overwhelmed by the support. " I just can't believe it, I've not even met some of the people. I was diagnosed quite a while ago, but recently the tumour has got worse". " My attitude has always been to love every day. People expect you to mope, but I don't. I just enjoy what time I have got left"
