Remediation Works Commence.

Provectus have this month recommenced works at the former Printworks site near Bath. The proposed remedial scheme successfully gained regulatory approval during 2007. Remediation of the 25 Hectare site will be completed in two separate phases to be delivered within six and twelve months respectively.

The site successfully gained outline planning permission earlier this year for a mixed scheme, comprising industrial, commercial and residential (up to 650 dwellings) uses.

The Client successfully negotiated an agreement to divest part of the site as a remediated development platform earlier this year. The current proposed works will involve remediation of the entire site within 12 months. This phased approach will allow the Client to realise some of the value in the site that they had invested in since 2006. It will also allow the proposed developer to commence construction works on part of the site ahead of remediation being completed on all of the site.

The Client has recently commented on Provectus:

Key to the project was controlling costs and ensuring that the project was sustainable, through careful design, planning and reuse of materials. Provectus provided an integrated approach delivering demolition, remediation and site re-profiling on a fixed price basis.
