Race The Sun - 5th September
Provectus will be undertaking a big challenge in September 2009 when we endeavour to complete the Race The Sun Event.
A challenge in the Lake District, setting off at sunrise and aiming to finish by sunset – racing the sun!
We will cycle a total of approximately 50 miles (80kms), hike to the summit of England’s second highest mountain - Helvellyn at 3,116ft (950m) - and canoe a 2.5 mile (4kms) course on Thirlmere. Not only will we be challenging our fitness, willpower and mental strengths, but we will be challenging ourselves to raise vital funds for the charity Action Medial Research.
Action Medical Research has been making medical breakthroughs for over 50 years – including helping develop the UK polio vaccine, ultrasound scanning in pregnancy and the hip replacement operation – saving countless lives and preventing disease and disability.
In order to complete this challenge we will be entering two teams each made up of four members comprising the following people: Steve Langford, Anna Maria Kozlowska, Jason Tilley, Allan Langford, Kayleigh Shuman, Carl Day, Mark Harris, and Clive Smith.
We are currently training hard and are really looking forward to the challenge. In order that we can meet our minimum fundraising target of £2,000 per team and take part in this challenge we would be delighted if you could sponsor us in this truly amazing challenge.
Please pledge to sponsor us for this event and thank you for your support.
In prepartation for the event, Provectus have been training very hard, and went away on the 26th of June for a training weekend.
